Future plans
In the short term, the Foundation would like to put the following plans into place:
Short term activities
- Renovate the Saraswati House in Dharan;
- Organise education in the above-mentioned orphanages;
- Create a competent and independent management team for each orphanage under responsibility of and NGO;
- Start
and broaden education in the various orphanages: at the moment some
limited teaching is given, in the form of general education, English
and computers. During 2006 this will be intensified and broadened to
include vocational training. The worsening political situation in Nepal
(schools are often closed due to strikes) makes home schooling even
more urgent.
Long term activities
In the long term, the Foundation has the following goals:
- A competent management for all three orphanages under the banner of an NGO;
- Well-maintained, well-equipped and safe orphanages;
- The
ability to offer a future perspective to the children, by offering
general education and vocational training. This education will be
provided in-house;
- Create greater financial security for the long term via local (Nepalese) support and donations from the Netherlands.
